Former UFC and MMA fighter Conor McGregor has pleaded guilty to the charge of assault after a fight in a pub in his native Dublin, Ireland. Video footage of the incident was released in August and showed McGregor punching the victim, Desmond Keogh, in the head at the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh.
The 31-year-old was convicted on Friday and fined 1,000 euros. The court was told Mr Keogh had declined to give a victim statement and was accepting of a formal apology from McGregor.
The defendant, McGregor, was promoting his brand of whiskey at the pub when the assault took place.
